"Bayn has received approximately SEK 9 million over the past five years, which has been used to build quality assurance structures, strengthen the organization, research and development of stevia compounds, business development and development of partner agreements," says Lucy Dahlgren, CEO of Bayn. "We are now seeking additional capital for continued commercialization, development of stevia compounds, development of customer relationships and sales at a time when the conditions for continued market penetration are already in place."

The company has been in business since 2009 and is today an established player in qualitative industrial methods for reducing sugar consumption and replacing artificial sweeteners in food and beverages. Stevia is an herb originating from South America where it has been used since ancient times to sweeten teas, among other things. Stevia is completely calorie-free and of natural origin, making it an excellent natural alternative to sugar in a world where diabetes and obesity have become major health and social problems with high socio-economic costs.

The main market driver is the global rise in obesity and diabetes, resulting in increased healthcare costs. Food manufacturers are therefore actively looking for healthier ingredients in their products, without the risks associated with artificial sweeteners. In addition, the price of sugar is at a high level, which favors products with higher sweetness content, such as stevia.

During the spring, Bayn's management and Board of Directors have worked on expanded plans and goals for product development as well as sales and financing, to ensure an optimal path to increased sales and profitability for the Company.

The subscription period runs between September 22 - October 13.
G&W Fondkommission is the Company's financial advisor in the transaction.
